MindLink Multicultural Counselling & Psychological Services is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), founded in 2025 and based in Aberdeen, with our support reaching across Scotland.
MindLink grew from a service once run by the Polish Association Aberdeen - an idea that has taken root, grown stronger, and continues to evolve to meet today’s community needs. This new service has been created by Polish therapists and psychologists with lived migration experience who have made Scotland their home.
Our team includes trained counsellors, trainee counsellors, and psychologists. We speak English, Polish, and, whenever possible, other languages that reflect the people we support. We aim to grow our small team to reflect even greater diversity in age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, socioeconomic background, and more. Our management team already brings together people from multiple nationalities.
MindLink is part of a simple but powerful vision: high-quality mental health support should be available to everyone, everywhere - regardless of language, culture, or background.
For us, multicultural counselling means more than recognising and working with differences. It’s about challenging systemic barriers, advocating for accessible services, and shaping therapy together with you. From the start, we’ve worked to create a service that is responsive, inclusive, and helps people live the lives they want to lead.
We use evidence-based approaches - including cognitive-behavioural, humanistic, psychodynamic, and integrative therapy - adapting them through shared decision-making so your therapy reflects your preferences and needs. Growth also extends beyond the therapy room, so we value cultural resources like art, community networks, nature-based activities, and local events to support well-being, connection, and belonging.
Safety is our highest priority. We follow clear procedures, comply with data protection law, and use secure appointment booking and information storage IT systems that meet UK safety guidelines. All volunteers undergo full criminal record checks, are registered with professional bodies, and work under regular group and individual clinical supervision.
Through counselling, workshops, outreach, and partnerships, we’re building a network of professional, empathic, and culturally sensitive support - a place where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported on their journey to well-being.
